Ashe breaks US high school hammer recordPublished by
Junior Shelby Ashe (St. Pius X, Atlanta, GA) set a new national junior class, Georgia state record, national junior (under 20) record and national high school 4k hammer throw record with her throw of 65.32m (214’04”) at the 2010 USATF GA JO Association Championships at the Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, Marietta, GA on June 15, 2010. The performance broke her own junior class record of 61.42m (201’06”) set at the GA State Hammer Championships on June 13, 2010 at the Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, and Maureen Griffin’s (SR/Pocatello, ID) national record of 61.44m (201’07”) set at the Rocky Mountain Elite Open at Utah State University, Logan, UT on May 30, 1998. It also extended her national lead to just under 20-feet. Series: Foul 50.78m (166’07”) 59.96m (196’09”) 65.32m (214’04”) 60.61m (198’10”) Foul Complete results will be posted when available.
