Fernandes and Guerra win at N.E. Championships; Irwin throws big PRPublished by
Aleide Fernandes (Central Falls, RI) followed up her state championship win last week with a win at the New England Hammer Championships on Saturday. Angela Onye (Classical, Providence, RI) again took second place, but Fernandes has a few more feet of breathing room this time around. On the boys side, A.J. Guerra (Woodstock Academy, CT) took home the win for Connecticut, while Nate Irwin (Cariho, Wood River Junction, RI) threw a 6-foot personal best to enge Rhode Island state champion Max Milder (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) for second place.
