Cynthia Lloyd (New Rochelle, NY) threw a personal best to capture the girl's title at Nike Indoor Nationals. Lloyd took the lead in the third round and held it through the remainder of the competition. Her best toss of 54'02.35" was two and a half feet better than runner-up Allison Horner (Lovett, Marietta, GA). Casey Kraychir (Twentynine Palms, CA) placed third and her sister, national leader Katie Kraychir, did not compete.
Another Kraychir, Trevor (Twentynine Palms, CA), stole the show in the boy's weight throw. Kraychir threw a personal best of 81'04.75" to win by nearly eight feet. That mark also ranks fourth on the all-time national weight throw list. Ryan Loughney (Tri-Valley Secondary, Grahamsville, NY) took second place.
