Walter Henning (St. Anthony's, South Huntington, NY) finished a perfect season with yet another national record. Henning took first place at this year's National Scholastic Indoor Championships with a personal best throw of 86'05.50". He won by nearly ten feet and surpassed his previous national record by 1.75 inches. Second place went to Wes Wright (Villa Rica, GA) and Ryan Loughney (Tri-Valley Secondary, Grahamsville, NY) took third.
Victoria Flowers (Classical, Providence, RI) threw a huge personal best to win the girl's competition. Flowers entered the competition with a personal best of 53'06.50". However, she threw 58'01.25" to win. Her mark moves her to the top of the national performance list and fifth on the all-time national list. Second, third, and fourth places all went to Throw1Deep throwers from Georgia. Sharla Adeduro (Kell, Marietta, GA) took second; Allison Horner (Lovett, Marietta, GA) took third); and Lauren Chambers (Kell, Marietta, GA) took fourth.
