At the Brown Invitational on Thursday, Walter Henning (St. Anthony's, South Huntington, NY) improved his personal best and set a new national junior class weight throw record. Henning threw 76'11.25" on his opening throw and followed it up with solid efforts of 74'03.25" and 75'04.00" in the second and third rounds.

Henning's improves his personal best by over a foot and also extends the national junior class record by nearly a foot. Leif Arrhenius (Class of 2004) set the previous record in 2003 with a throw of 76'01.75". Arrhenius still holds the national record in the event.
