Personal Bests Headline Knights of Columbus Relays

Robyn McFetters (Barrington, RI) and Rudy Winkler (Averill Park, NY) both threw personal bests in their first meet of the outdoor season. In fact, the annual Knights of Columbus Relays was full of improvements. The top three boys and girls all threw new bests. McFetters improved by eight feet to 169'10" while Winkler, the national indoor champion, improved by just under eight feet. Winkler, who is also just a sophomore, had an even more impressive throw of 218'8" with the international under-18 11-pound hammer at the competition. Both Winkler and Velez surpassed the qualifying standards for this summer's IAAF World Youth Championships.
