Senior Lovell Paterson (Wayne, Huber Heights, OH) took the state lead with a new personal best to win the high school boys elite weight throw competition at the Findlay Open. The weight throw has been a scoring event at the Ohio state championship meet for the last several years. Paterson held off a late charge and four-foot personal best by Anthony Wilks (Marlington, Alliance, OH). Former state leader Max Lydum (Defiance, OH) placed third.
