World Junior Championships (China)Published by
Walter Henning placed eight on Friday at the World Junior (U20) Championships in Beijing. Henning opened up with a throw of 70.28m and was consistent throughout the competition. Five of his throws surpassed 70 meters and his best measured 71.90m (235'11") in the third round. The throwers threw the 6 kilogram (13.2 lb) international junior implement. Henning was also the youngest athlete to participate in the finals on Friday. Just one year ago, Henning placed eight at the World Youth (U18) Championships in Marrakech, Morocco. Henning best throw in Marrakech measured 70.90m. At that meet the atheltes threw the 5 kilogram (11 lb) hammer. Just one year later he maintained his position in the older age group and improved his distance by one meter while throwing a heavier implement. IAAF World Junior Championships
