McCullough breaks high school 16# record

Senior Conor McCullough (Chaminade, West Hills, CA) set a new national record with the 16-pound hammer throw at the a meet at the U.S. Olympic Training Center on Wednesday. McCullough's improved the old record twice times during the competition, ending with a best of 66.92m (219'07"). The record was previously held by Jacob Freeman with a throw of 65.89m (216’02”) set at the 105th Penn Relay Carnival on April 24, 1999. McCullough's series was as follows: 65.42m (214’07”), 64.84m (212’09”), 66.65m (218’08”), 65.82m (215’11”), 66.92m (219’07”), 63.05m (206’10”).
