Thorton sets state record at Massachusetts ChampionshipsPublished by
The innagural edition of the Massachusetts Scholastic Weight Throw Invitational was held Wednesday evening at the famous Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Twelve athletes from across the Bay State competed and eight of them left with personal bests. Adrienne Thornton (John D. O’Bryant, Roxbury, MA) won the girl's competition with a new personal best and state record throw of 48-06.75. On the boy's side, Shawn Ferrell (Bishop Fenwick, Peabody, MA) won a close competition over Sean Enos (St. John's Prep, Danvers, MA) with a personal best of 54-06.75.
