Results of Centralia Hammer meet
Held Sunday 3-24-13 at Centralia High School in Centralia Washington

Cold but dry with some sun:

High School girls 4 kilo
1. Hanna Frost 11th Mary M Knight 113’10” Lifetime Best
2. Riley Scocco 9th Shorewood Christian 97’ 4”
3. Kylie Eager 12th TaHoma High School 87’ 4”
4. Ashley Allemeier 12th Inglemoor High School 47’ Lifetime Best

Hanna Frost improves to 113’ 10”, just 6’ 2” from making Bob Gourley’s National cut off list standard. And this is only Hanna’s second hammer meet in her life. Hanna’s mark is currently the second best mark in the State so far in the early 2013 season. New comer Ashley Allemeier looked good in her first meet ever.

High School boys 12lb
1. Andy Miller 12th Capital 193’6”
2. Brock Eager 11th TaHoma 188’5” Lifetime Best
3. Brayton Eiland 10th Centralia 120’ 5” Lifetime Best
4. Wesley Gilge 10th Camas 110’5”

Miller wins, but just misses his second PR of the year. Miller still leads the State of Washington in the boys hammer in the early 2013 season. Eager has another big PR throwing 188’5” which moves him up to number 20 on the All Time Washington State high school top 50 list. Another showing big improvement was sophomore Brayton Eiland, throwing 120’ 5”, a solid mark for a 10th grader.

Open Woman 4 kilo

1. Hanna Frost 11th Mary M. Knight 113’8”
2. Riley Scocco 9th Shorewood Christian 104’1” Lifetime Best
3. Kylie Eager 12th TaHoma High School 78’8”
4. Ashley Allemeier 12th Inglemoor High School 61’ 8” Lifetime Best

Frost almost improves again, while Scocco throws a lifetime best (number 3 in the State so far in 2013) and more importantly Scocco almost reaches the number 10 all time Washington girl’s freshman mark of 106’ 6”. The number 10 all time girl’s freshman mark is currently held by Central Valley’s Katie Wardsworth (who has the leading throw for girl’s in the State for 2013), and is the odds on favorite to win the State Girl’s hammer title for the second year in a row. The State High School hammer meet will be held in Spokane at the end of May.

Open Men’s 16 lb hammer:

1. Andy Miller 12th Capital 171’5” Lifetime Best
2. Brock Eager 11th TaHoma 151’ 3” Lifetime Best
3. Brayden Eiland 10th Centralia 97’ 10” Lifetime Best

All three throw lifetime best marks with the 16lb hammer, but Miller’s mark is particularly impressive for a high school athlete throwing the men’s 16 lb ball.

Boy’s athlete of the meet: It is close considering Miller’s outstanding 16lb toss but the edge goes to Brock Eager with two lifetime best marks. His 188’5’ toss is the number two mark in the State so far in the 2013 season, but Triton Patassi and Damon Unland have yet to open up. Brock followed that 12 lb PR up with a very nice 151’ 3” 16lb PR as well, so Brock gets the node at the outstanding male thrower.

Girls athlete of the meet: Hanne Frost’s outstanding 113’10” toss makes her an easy choice as the girl’s outstanding thrower.

The next Centralia meet will be Sunday April 7, 2013 The next Western Washington meet for high school athletes will be at West Seattle on Saturday 3-30-13. Weigh-in for this meet is at 8:00 am with the men’s hammer to start at 9:00 am and woman to follow at 10:45 am.
