On February 8th, Drew Staskiewicz of Omaha, Nebraska signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Missouri. Drew plans to major in Business Management while throwing hammer, weight, shot put and discus for the Tigers. At 6’ 4” and 240 pounds, he is the number two all time shot putter and number four all time discus thrower at Millard North High School after his junior season. Drew also holds the Nebraska Association USATF records for hammer throw in the Intermediate Boys and Young Men’s age groups. He qualified for USA Junior Nationals un the hammer throw during the summer of 2010 in Des Moines, where he finished 15th out of the 30 at the age of 17. Drew finished the 2010 winter season as the top ranked high school junior in the weight throw according to the hshammer.com rankings. He qualified for the Nebraska State Track & Field meet in both shot put and discus as a sophomore but missed the District qualifying meet during his junior year after an injury to a finger on his throwing hand. Drew has also won numerous summer track meets, Nebraska Association and USATF Region VIII championships.
