There were few improvements by the top throwers over the past week. However, Craig Pearce (Woonsocket, RI) topped 200 feet for the first time this season with a toss of 206'5". He is the eight thrower to surpass the 200 foot barrier this season.
Walter Henning (St. Anthony's, South Huntington, NY) also threw the 16# hammer for the first time this season and took the national lead with that implement. His throw of 209'7" placed 10th in the Olympic Development section of the Penn Relays. Ryan Loughney ( Tri-Valley Secondary, Grahamsville, NY) placed 13th in the same competition with a new best of 177'1".
